Dinner Outdoors! Our Tips for the Perfect Picnic

After a long day at work, there’s nothing better than enjoying a relaxed dinner with your loved ones. Even better: turning it into a picnic in the park or your own garden. Here’s how to make your picnic a success – with minimal effort and plenty of delicious ideas.

The Classic Picnic Favorite

Sandwiches are quick to prepare, versatile, and always delicious. Cut into small pieces, they make perfect finger food for everyone – whether you prefer meat or plant-based options.

Our favorite sandwich fillings:

  • Cucumber and cress
  • Egg salad
  • Grilled vegetables with pesto
  • Avocado

Finger Food Always Works

When heading out for a picnic, you don’t want to bring a full set of dinnerware. That’s why finger food is always a great choice. Puff pastry bites, vegetable skewers, or raw veggies with dips are easy to prepare and perfect for sharing.

Bring Italy to You

Love Italian food? So do we. Freshly baked focaccia, olives, sun-dried tomatoes, olive oil, mozzarella, and pecorino instantly create that vacation feeling.

When Life Gives You Lemons

No picnic is complete without refreshing drinks. One of our favorites is a sparkling lemon and ginger lemonade.

Ingredients:

  • 4 organic lemons
  • 2-inch piece of ginger
  • 250g sugar
  • Ice cubes
  • Mint (optional)

Wash the lemons with hot water and grate the zest. Juice the lemons. Peel the ginger and slice it thinly. Bring the ginger, lemon zest, and 500 ml water to a boil and let it simmer for about 5 minutes. After cooling, strain the mixture and combine it with the lemon juice.

Dilute the syrup with sparkling water as desired and serve chilled with ice cubes.

A Different Kind of Summer Salad

A classic green salad is always a good choice – but why not try something new? Our current office favorite is a watermelon feta salad.

Fresh, light, and full of flavor, it might just become your new go-to.

A Sweet Ending

No picnic is complete without dessert. Fresh berries, seasonal fruits, and a light yogurt cream are perfect for summer. If you’re craving something a bit more indulgent, try our quick and easy croffles.

Ingredients:

  • Ready-to-bake croissants (from the refrigerated section)
  • Sugar and cinnamon
  • Waffle iron

Unroll the croissants, sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon, roll them back up, and place them in a preheated waffle iron. Bake until golden brown – and enjoy!

Ready to plan your next picnic? We hope you enjoy every moment.
